1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you submit a contact form, subscribe to updates, request program information, register for events, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we may collect includes name, email address, phone number, mailing address, contact preferences, and the contents of your communications.

Payments: We do not request or store payment card information on the Site. For Gift Card Program purchases, personal and payment information is collected and processed by Yiftee on its website, subject to Yiftee’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

All personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Site.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Site. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country/city-level location (based on IP), information about how and when you use the Site, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain security and for internal analytics and reporting.

Like many sites, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

  • Log and Usage Data. Service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information (e.g., IP address, device information, browser type, settings, pages viewed, searches, timestamps, and device event information such as system activity and error reports).

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, including to:

  • Operate and administer WeHo Loves Locals programs (Resident Offers and Gift Cards) and related communications;
  • Respond to inquiries/offer support;
  • Send administrative information (e.g., program updates, policy changes);
  • Conduct outreach and promotional communications consistent with your preferences;
  • Deliver basic analytics and limited advertising/retargeting to promote City programs and participating businesses;
  • Protect the Services, including fraud monitoring and prevention; and
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal processes.

3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations with service providers and partners who help us operate the Site and programs.

Service Providers. We may share data with vendors who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work (e.g., website hosting, analytics, email delivery, site maintenance, security, advertising/retargeting technologies).

Program Partners. For the Resident Offers Program, we may share limited information with participating businesses to administer an offer or respond to your inquiry.

Gift Card Program. Purchases, transactions, and redemptions are processed by Yiftee on its platform. We may receive aggregate, de-identified program metrics (e.g., number of cards issued/redeemed) for administration and evaluation; we do not receive your full payment details from Yiftee.

Legal. We may share information with governmental entities when required by law.

We do not sell personal information.

4. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: Yes. We use cookies and similar technologies to collect and store information.

We may permit third parties and service providers to use online tracking technologies on our Site for analytics and advertising/retargeting, including to help manage and display informational promotions about City programs or participating local businesses. Where required by applicable law, we will honor your choices (opt-in/opt-out). You can manage cookies via your browser settings. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to track and analyze use of the Site and to help measure the effectiveness of communications. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the browser add-on provided by Google and applicable ad settings pages.

5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this notice, unless otherwise required by law.

We retain personal information for the period needed to fulfill the purposes described here (for example, to respond to inquiries or provide program updates) and then delete or de-identify it in accordance with applicable records retention requirements.

6. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We implement reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Transmission of personal information to and from the Site is at your own risk. You should access the Services within a secure environment.

7. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information.

By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data. 9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your preference not to have online browsing activities monitored and collected. Because no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. Program-Specific Disclosures

A. Resident Offers Program

Offers are created and fulfilled by participating businesses. If you choose to redeem an offer, you may provide information directly to that business. The City does not control the privacy practices of participating businesses; their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

B. Gift Card Program (Powered by Yiftee)

When you click to purchase a WeHo Loves Locals digital gift card, you are redirected to Yiftee. Your purchase and payment information are collected and processed by Yiftee in accordance with its own Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. The City does not collect or store your payment card details. We may receive aggregate, de-identified program reports (e.g., number of cards issued/redeemed) to administer and evaluate the program.
